Vaccines are not medicines but are actually agents which contain a small amount of the virus that is injected into your body for your white blood cells to fight. Your body will then be able to recognise the virus the next time it attacks and become immune to it.
There are many types of vaccines:
1) Flu, cholera vaccines are actually dead viruses that had been killed.
2) Tuberculosis vaccine, a non-contagious strain called “BCG” are a live virus. (I have had that. It leaves a small scar on you arm.)
3) Toxic based vaccines are used for fighting virus that are caused by the tonic in the organisms.
4) Protein vaccines like vaccines against Hepatitis B virus are taken from the surface proteins of the virus.
5) Conjugate vaccine is used for bacteria invasion. It creates an immunity to the bacteria.
6) DNA vaccines go into the core of a virus’ DNA and use that as a fight against it.

There are also some new vaccines but these are the only ones I know.
